Burmesian amber (Burmit) specimen from Myanmar dating to the Late Cretaceous about 99 million years old and naturally preserved.
Description from the seller
For sale is an authentic piece of Burmese amber (Myanmar, Hukawng Valley), dated to the Upper Cretaceous (about 99 million years ago).
The piece contains a clearly recognizable scorpion tail (Metasoma with Telson). The segmented structure as well as the curved stinger are clearly visible and allow a definite identification as a scorpion fragment. The form is aesthetically pleasing and clearly positioned within the resin.
Additionally, other natural inclusions are present, including a small spider (secondary inclusion, fragmentarily preserved) as well as plant particles and typical debris structures, as they are characteristic of Burmese amber. These document the natural embedding in the fossil resin.
Condition:
Good preserved condition. The scorpion tail is clearly visible. Natural matrix particles and smaller inclusions present. No restorative interventions detectable
Origin: Myanmar (Burma), Hukawng Valley
Age: Upper Cretaceous (~99 million years)
Material: natural Burmese amber
Main inclusion: scorpion tail (fragment)
Other inclusions: small spider (secondary), plant particles
