Description from the seller
Proposed for sale is a rare bronze archer’s ring, solid and massive, with the asymmetrical shape typical of rings used for the “thumb draw,” the archery technique employed by Turkish, Mongol and Persian archers between the 8th and 12th centuries.
The inclined protrusion was designed to protect the thumb from the violent release of the bowstring and to promote a smooth and precise shot. This type of ring was used not only for warfare and hunting, but also as a symbol of belonging and status.
The ring features:
• Ancient patina (greenish-brown), a sign of long exposure to natural elements;
• Visible manual inscriptions, probably symbolic;
• Usage traces consistent with the era and function.
Objects similar to this are kept in museums such as the British Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Provenance: European private collection.
accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and provenance.
Sold as a historical collectible object, not classified as a culturally protected heritage asset.

Perfect for collectors, military history enthusiasts, re-enactors, or private museum display.
