Biography:

Kobalt, born in Paris in 1970, embodies the journey of a polymorphous artist whose creativity has unfolded from electronic music to contemporary graphic art. Coming from a family where art was already present thanks to his father, a draftsman, Kobalt discovers at a very young age his first passion, musical creation. This passion guides him in his youth, and his early talents lead him to make a bold decision: invest the money meant to finance his higher education in creating his first album.
Distributed by EMI, the album does not meet the expected success, but it marks the beginning of a richly experimental artistic career.

Parallel to his musical career, Kobalt engages in the advertising world as a designer/copywriter for the iconic Playboy magazine. For many years, he put his creativity at the service of the publication by creating and directing the magazine’s advertising campaigns.

The turning point of his career comes in 2005 when he becomes a cameraman, thus exploring a new facet of the visual world. In 2007, he discovers a passion for photography, adding another artistic string to his bow. In 2010, he successfully founds his own photo agency, highlighting his entrepreneurial spirit.

In 2017, Kobalt makes a radical choice to sell his agency to fully embrace graphic art, influenced by his son, who has become a major figure in world street art. A pioneer of computer-assisted artistic creation, Kobalt stands out with nearly 3,000 works sold in galleries and online to date.

His artistic approach is marked by the bold use of humor, provocation, and anachronisms, with a particular penchant for reworking magazine covers, a style that makes him instantly recognizable.

Despite the digital era, Kobalt has chosen to stay away from social networks, preserving a certain privacy. Today, he uses all available digital tools to bring his creations to life, continuing to push the boundaries of artistic expression with a subtle blend of inspiration, innovation, and humor.
