Danish Art Nouveau - Bowl - Silver, Glass

A beautiful Danish Art Nouveau silver bowl made in 1926, accompanied by its original glass insert. The bowl is made in a classic Danish Jugend design with a beautiful hand-worked repoussé decoration running around the body. The lower part of the bowl features a ribbed design and the interior is gold-washed. This traditional gilding was used to protect the silver surface and to give a luxurious contrast to the polished exterior. The original glass insert fits perfectly inside the bowl and features a cut decoration around the rim. Together, the silver bowl and glass liner create a very elegant object suitable for serving sweets, desserts, or small dishes. The bowl is stamped on the base with the Danish three towers mark with the number 26 underneath - guaranteeing a minimum silver purity of 826/1000 from the year 1926. It also has the assay master mark for Christian F. Heise, along with the maker’s mark. The maker’s mark has been double-stamped and is difficult to read. This is a beautiful example of Danish Art Nouveau silver, combining decorative repoussé work, a ribbed lower body, and the original glass insert. Dimensions: Height: 18 cm Diameter: 13 cm Silver weight: 141 g Total weight including glass insert: 277 g Condition: Lovely vintage condition with slight patina. The glass insert is in lovely condition with a couple of very small chips around the rim, nothing serious - see close-up photos. Overall the piece looks great. Please take a good look at the photos, which are an integral part of the description. This lot will be carefully packed so it will get to its new owner exactly as it should.
