Description from the seller
Double-Peduncle Desk Mid-Century – Italian Rationalist Design
Gorgeous ministerial or office desk dating from the mid-20th century (1950s/1960s), characterized by a solid, functional design that evokes the Italian rationalist style of the era. A piece with great character, perfect for furnishing a professional study, an atelier or a loft with vintage industrial taste.
Key Features
Structure: Made of wood with warm-veneered veneer (likely walnut or mahogany), mounted on black-finished plinth bases that give a hovering effect typical of modern design.
Configuration: The desk is designed to be used in the center of the room (finish on all sides).
Front side: 6 wide drawers in total (3 per side) and two upper open compartments for quick-reference documents.
Rear side: 2 wide compartments closed by hinged doors with lock, ideal as an archive or integrated bookshelf.
Style details: Original period crema plastic handles with chromed metal inserts.
Item condition
The desk presents in good original cosmetic condition, with the usual signs of time that attest to its authenticity and history:
Surfaces: There are some scratches and signs of wear on the veneer (visible in detail photos).
Hardware: Original locks present; one key included.
Notes: One of the handles shows a crack/break (as per photographic detail), though it remains functional. The black base shows slight chipping consistent with age.
