Description from the seller
Sony PS-T22 semi-automatic direct-drive turntable.
This beautiful Sony PS-T22 semi-automatic turntable is equipped with a linear brushless Sony BSL motor and features a quick start plus low speed fluctuations. This motor is also maintenance-free. If necessary, the speed can be manually corrected using the built-in illuminated strobe.
The plinth of the PS-T22 is made in the so-called Sony BMC. BMC stands for Bulk Molding Compound. This is what Sony itself writes about SMBC: "The cabinet made of Sony's Bulk Molding Compound (BMC). Long a fixture in Sony anti-resonant design, BMC is carefully formulated for high strength and high internal loss. Like steel, it has the rigidity required for its structural purpose. But unlike steel, BMC steadfastly resists vibration and resonance. BMC consists of calcium carbonate (a principal component of marble), glass fiber reinforcement and unsaturated polyester." BMC is still used by Sony to this day.
The turntable shows minor signs of use. On the rear there are some numbers scratched in.
The turntable is supplied with a Sony XL-15A cartridge with the ND-15 needle. The needle has been examined under a needle microscope and is still in new condition. Unfortunately, the two rubber dampers that were attached at the bottom on both sides of the lid were missing. I have replaced them with two spare copies.
With the help of a test record, the most favorable tracking force was 1.8 g. How to set the tracking force is described in the manual.
I managed to find the information on the internet to compile a manual myself, with some effort. This manual is included in a folder. This manual is in English.
