Pearls:
PEARL - dense spherical formations (pearls), consisting of nacreous layers of the mineral aragonite, or a mixture of aragonite and calcite, sometimes a small amount of vaterite. In addition, pearls always contain organic matter that separates the mineral layers.
Pearls are formed in the shells of some marine and freshwater mollusks, in which the interior of the shell is composed of a nacreous layer.
Pearl is not the name of a mineral; it is a mixture of mineral and organic substances.
Pearls are a good haemostatic agent. Therefore, it was used in the form of powders and infusions for bleeding gums, vomiting blood and bloody haemorrhoids. Until the 18th century, mother-of- pearl and pearl powder could be purchased in any medieval pharmacy. This remedy was credited with healing powers that could help cure all kinds of diseases. The microelements it contains are truly capable of having a stimulating and strengthening effect on the human body.
Pearl products help with diseases of the kidneys, liver, digestive system and hypertension. Pearls were used to treat cataracts and other eye diseases. The ancient Chinese used it to improve visual acuity, as well as to treat ear diseases. The famous Tibetan medical treatise Zhud-shi states that pearls help with memory loss, nervous disorders and nervous weakness.
In Europe, pearls are a symbol of durability, in India they are a symbol of prosperity and well-being. In China, they are a symbol of fertility and magical power, and in Greece and India, they are a symbol of marriage.
A pearl is a symbol of incorruptibility and perfection.
In many countries, pearls are believed to promote longevity. Looking at them calms the psyche, bringing tranquility and peace.
