Description from the seller

An industrial antique Mauser Spezial sewing machine. Not tested, so its operation is unknown and some parts may be missing. In any case, this is a rare, highly decorative vintage sewing machine.

34 x 20 x 31 cm (L x W x H)
weight 16 kg

Mauser Spezial is a renowned brand of industrial sewing machines, known for its high quality and specialized applications in the clothing and textile industry. Although the company’s roots go back to the legendary firearms manufacturer Mauser, the 'Spezial' division has been focused on sewing and overlock technology for decades.

The Mauser company from Oberndorf began as a gunsmithing workshop at the start of the 19th century and developed from 1872 into an important German arms manufacturer. The Treaty of Versailles banned the production of war weapons in 1919. To ensure the company’s survival, alongside sporting rifles, measuring instruments, automobiles, and, from 1922, sewing machines were produced.

Mauser sewing machines were mainly industrial machines for specialized tasks. The machines operated precisely and were extremely robust. Sewing machines are still sold under the name "Mauser" to this day.

Due to its weight, this machine should preferably be picked up.
