Medieval religious manuscript from a book of hymns, hand-written in Latin on vellum, with the letter S for Salutis in red surrounded by a floral decoration in blue in superb miniature drawing. The letters “L”and “V’ in blue, a “B” in red. The other side with the letter I in blue, achantus details inside, and the letters “C”, “Q” and “V” in alternate red and blue. More lines in red. Exquisite.
Size: 55 cm x 38 cm - 21 11/16 inches x 14 15/16 inches
Material: Vellum
Culture: France, c. 15th Century A.D.
Condition: Part of a larger manuscript
Provenance: Collection Mr. I. Roper, acquired in the 1970. London, UK.
