Description from the seller

Rare circular box with a domed lid, called a "necessaire" or offering box, in gilded copper and brass. It features a richly ornamental decoration across several registers:

The lid: Surmounted by a polylobed grasping knob, it is adorned with alternating red coral cabochons in drops and rings, underscored by beadwork threads and brass twists.

The body: Divided into two horizontal registers, it is entirely encircled by a frieze of coral baton pieces set in "clos", typical of metalwork from Himalayan regions.

Production context:
Work from the Tibetan-influenced zone (Tibet or Bhutan), probably from the late 19th or early 20th century. This type of object was used to preserve precious substances, relics, or medicinal herbs.

Some signs of age and use.
