Description from the seller
LOT TITLE:
Victorian Silver-Plated Entree Dish with Cover & Matching Plate — English, Pre-1896, Beaded & Acanthus Handles
DESCRIPTION:
At the table, we tell who we are. And this Victorian oval cloche knows it well — it has served roasts and game in some English dining room of the nineteenth century, under lit candelabras and lively conversations.
Complete set consisting of a lid with an ornamental acanthus-leaf handle and a matching plate, with pearlized edging on both pieces. High-quality electroplated silver plate, hallmarks present on the tray. Slight signs of use on the lid, consistent with the piece's age — the patina of authenticity.
Material: EPNS (Electroplated Nickel Silver)
Origin: England, Sheffield/Birmingham
Period: Late 19th century, pre-1896
Dimensions: 39 × 24 cm, overall height 18 cm
Weight: approx. 1 kg
Conditions: Good, small signs of use on the lid
