Description from the seller
Tom Dixon – ‘Etch’ tealight holders – set of 3 – etched metal – sculptural light object - designed 2006-2007
This iconic set of three tealight holders is designed by the internationally renowned British designer Tom Dixon and is part of the well-known ‘Etch’ collection — a series in which technology and design converge.
The objects are digitally developed and manufactured via an advanced industrial etching process, comparable to techniques used in the electronics industry. This yields extremely refined patterns that are etched directly into the metal.
When the tealight holders are lit, they transform into true light objects: the candlelight is filtered through the geometric perforations and projects an intriguing play of shadows and lines in the space.
The combination of stainless steel and black steel gives the set a strong contrast and a pronounced modern character. The faceted design ensures that each object has a sculptural appearance even without a candle.
A recognizable and sought-after design piece within contemporary interior design — perfectly suited to Scandinavian, minimalist and Japandi interiors.
Designed around 2006–2007 as part of Tom Dixon’s innovative ‘Etch’ series, where digital design techniques and industrial craftsmanship come together.
