Walnut tambour secretaire, Italy, late 19th / early 20th century

Description

Elegant Italian walnut veneered secretaire with a solid wood core, dating from the late 19th – early 20th century.

The piece presents a sober and balanced profile, reminiscent of the Neoclassical / Late Empire style, with a slightly bombé front and walnut grain arranged symmetrically.
The upper part consists of a tambour secretaire that opens and can be used as a writing surface, while the lower part comprises several spacious drawers.

Original interiors, locks present, one with a key and a decorative escutcheon.
Original patina preserved, signs of wear consistent with the age that attest to its authenticity.

Conditions

Good overall condition.
Normal signs of time (small abrasions, veneer wear in some spots, interiors rough as typical of the period).
Structurally stable. Not recently restored.
Shipping on pallet available ONLY to curbside (no delivery to upper floors).

Or local pickup by appointment.
