Wall sconce (2) - Gilt bronze

Exceptional antique wall-mounted single bronze-gilt torch sconces.
There are right-hand and left-hand pieces ready to be displayed on either side.
They are in gilded bronze, and weigh 4.6 kg of bronze.
Both are richly decorated with vegetal motifs—leaves and acanthus.
The sculpture work is finely wrought and they are extremely showy.
They were originally candles; the base for candle use is still present, but they have been electrified and are ready to accommodate a light bulb if desired.
