Description from the seller
BIDDERS READ THE ENTIRE ADVERTISEMENT WITH SPECIAL ATTENTION REGARDING THE SHIPPING COSTS.
PLEASE NOTE: BEING FORCED BY THE CATAWIKI EXPERT MRS. COVRIG (SO THAT THE ADVERTISEMENT WOULD NOT OTHERWISE BE POSTED) TO REDUCE THE LIMIT AMOUNT. IF THE SELLER DOES NOT DELIVER, THIS IS CATAWIKI'S FAULT.
This vintage Peugeot sports bicycle is a family heirloom from my wife's grandfather, who lived for 10 years in the village of Feytiat in France. He was a friend and admirer of cyclist Raymond Poulidor, who lived in Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat.
Grandfather was very proud and fond of his vintage Peugeot bicycle, which he bought in the late 1950s. He hardly rode it. It was more of a display piece for him, partly because the Peugeot brand had a professional cycling team at that time.
The bike is undoubtedly in its original (pristine) wonderful condition. It has a well-functioning derailleur (12 speeds) with two gear levers on the handlebar, a rear carrier, attractive rims and tires, good lights, a dynamo, a bike stand, etc. See the attached photos!
Additional information about the bike: height is 170 cm; the height from the handlebar is 100 cm; the handlebar width is 49 cm. The saddle height is adjustable and suitable for cyclists with a body height from 160 cm to 200 cm. The tire size is (23-622) 700x23C. The weight of the bike is 14 kg.
A unique opportunity for collectors, other enthusiasts and certainly also for shops that sell bicycles and Peugeot car dealers (as a lovely and unique eye-catcher) to purchase this beautiful vintage bicycle. But of course ALSO to ride it.
PREFERENCE is for PICKUP of the bike, but it may also be possible to have it shipped to the buyer. This will, however, require further exploration and discussion/arrangements between seller and buyer.
If shipping is arranged, the packing and shipping costs (to be determined) are the responsibility of the BUYER. Catawiki requires the seller to fill in the shipping fields. Therefore the shipping costs may not correspond to the actual costs! The buyer must pay the actual (true) shipping costs!!
ATTENTION: the bike is sold only to bidders in Europe. The seller reserves the right not to accept a bid lower than 375 euros and not to deliver this fine sports bicycle. The limit amount was adjusted to 100 euros by the seller during a previous sale action at the request of Catawiki (as a condition for posting the advertisement). We will see whether Catawiki, in the interest of the seller and the bidders, now accepts the limit amount of 350 euros so that a highest bid lower than 350 euros does not disappoint the buyer about non-delivery by the seller.
Valued at 700 euros by an independent expert and specialist in vintage bicycles.
