On offer three ancient Dutch rock albums, including the rare debuts of Solution plus Brainbox. These records have an intimate connection, featuring guitargod Jan Akkerman. All albums are in remarkable state, especially considering their age. Always well-protected. Two out of three are as new, totally mint, sleeve as well as vinyl. Solution is VG+. Due to their age, they feel like 140 gram records. Solution – Solution (debut) Very rare first album of successful one-of-a-kind Dutch group Solution. Recorded in three days, engineered and produced by Pierre Chateau and John Schuursma, who would become the greatest names in their field. Solution featured then-rare saxophone in unique combination with strong guitarplaying. Their debut was very limited released and now very, very hard to find. When Gus Dudgeon heard it, he convinced Elton John to sign them on his label. When two members were drafted by the army, they were temporarily replaced by Jan Akkerman and Kaz Lux, the foundation of Brainbox. Catfish, C054-24377, 1971, Netherlands. Sleeve VG+, vinyl VG+ Brainbox – Brainbox (debut). Big Dutch supergroup although we did not know that at the time. Vocals Kaz Lux, drums Pierre van der Linden and of course Jan Akkerman on guitar. Both went on to form Focus after this album. It features their successes Dark rose and Reason to believe, plus a haunting version of Summertime. Side B has an opus of 17 minutes: Sea of delight. The album scored also in the States and is considered one of the best of Dutch rock. It was rereleased in 1996 and 2011 Imperial, 5C054 24082, 1969. Sleeve mint, vinyl mint. Lancee: Models. Featuring a young Frank Klunhaar. Guitar-oriented with references to Todd Runtgrenn and Genesis. Lead guitarist Ferdi Lancee is most known for writing the big Dutch hit Suzanne.
