AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

HOT is a 70 x 100 cm painting by Flavia Delgado that turns a common object into a powerful visual symbol. The red pepper, absolute protagonist of the composition, is cut out against a vibrant background that evokes heat, intensity, and character.

The structure recalls the language of the classic poster, with direct typography and a clean framing that reinforce the immediate impact of the image. The contrast between the bright red of the chili and the warm and blue tones of the background creates a dynamic and attractive chromatic tension.

The graphical treatment, with bold black outlines and defined color planes, connects the work with pop and advertising aesthetics. The formal simplification enhances its iconic character, transforming the pepper into an emblem of energy, flavor, and strength.

Beyond the literal, the chili acts as a metaphor: intensity, passion, risk. The word “HOT” not only describes, but amplifies the feeling that the image conveys.

HOT is a direct, vibrant, and forceful work that captures the essence of color and character in a visually strong image.

Seller's Story

I present a pictorial work line strongly linked to illustration and artistic poster design. My works combine the language of classic poster art with the plastic freedom of contemporary painting: flat colors, defined contours, direct scenes, and a clear narrative sense. My work dialogues with the tradition of 20th-century poster art, especially with the universe of Art Deco and European and North American advertising posters, where authors like A. M.. Cassandre, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and Leonetto Cappiello used synthetic imagery and color for visual impact. There are also affinities with European comic graphics and the clear line, from Hergé to modern editorial illustration. In my paintings, I depict interiors, architectures, figures, and travel scenes—such as roads, vintage cars, or landscapes—approached from a graphic perspective reminiscent of posters and illustrated books, but transferred to the realm of painting on paper and canvas. I aim for each image to function like a frame or a narrative poster, capable of suggesting a broader story without needing to explain it.
