Description from the seller

• Top: White Carrara-style marble with soft gray veining, rectangular with a slightly overhanging edge.
• Frame: Rich mahogany with fine polished finish.
• Decoration: Prominent central gilt-bronze (ormolu) lion-head mascaron in a medallion, flanked by Greek-key (meander) frieze and smaller ornamental mounts.
• Legs: Four turned, fluted columns with ormolu capitals (rings) and matching sabots (feet).
• Base: Elegant curved cross-stretcher with a central ornamental mount for stability — classic Empire detail.
This design is inspired by the French Empire period (Napoleon I, 1804–1815), blending Roman/Greek classical motifs (lion = strength & empire; Greek key = antiquity) with the heavier, more architectural lines that replaced the curvy Rococo of Louis XV (like your earlier chairs). The crisp condition and bright ormolu strongly indicate a high-quality 19th- or early-20th-century reproduction rather than an original 1800s piece.
