Martine Franck, Agustin Cardenas, signed, first edition in French, soft cover, 50 pages, published in 2006 by Franco Sciardelli, Milano.
Description from the seller
Exceptionally dedicated and signed by Martine Franck on the title page. Unique and nowhere else to be found in a signed or unsigned copy. 64 pages and 22 black-and-white photographs printed full page on recto only, texts in French by E.C. Malagodi and José Pierre. Paperback cover.
This book is part of a collection directed by Ferdinando Scianna. Agustin Cárdenas (1927 – 2001) is a painter and sculptor born in Havana. The spiritual, poetic, and sensual work of Agustin Cárdenas captivated the surrealists as soon as he arrived in Paris in 1955. He participated in numerous exhibitions alongside them. Heir to the mixed art of the Caribbean and Cuba. He is also one of the pioneers of modern sculpture, with Constantin Brancusi or Jean Arp. These paperback volumes testify to his aspiration for an abstraction thought from natural forms.
Copy in excellent overall condition with a small manufacturing defect in the paper on the back cover (see photo). A book from my personal collection kept with the greatest care. Shipped protected with reinforced packaging and international tracking guaranteed. In case of multiple purchases, grouping shipment is possible with reimbursement of any excess postal charges paid via PayPal.
