Description from the seller
Elegant Edwardian Silver-Plated Hors d’Oeuvres / Serving Set with Cut Glass Insert
A refined early 20th-century silver-plated serving tray of circular form, raised on a finely pierced gallery with repeating oval motif. The interior is richly decorated with an intricate engine-turned and engraved design, centred by a vacant cartouche, reflecting the elegance of the Edwardian period.
The tray is fitted with its original pressed and cut glass insert, divided into multiple compartments around a central well – designed for the stylish presentation of hors d’oeuvres, sweets or condiments. The glass features radiating fluted patterns and delicate moulded detailing, beautifully complementing the silver-plated mount.
Marked to the underside: Silver Plated – Made in England.
Very good antique condition. Light surface wear consistent with age and gentle use; no significant damage. The glass insert remains well preserved with only minor signs of use.
A highly decorative and functional piece, embodying the refined dining culture of the Edwardian era – increasingly sought after by collectors of period tableware and English silver plate.
