Description from the seller
Very lovely ARAKO type SU 122, 'BIRGIT' FM radio
All Arako radios had names of Danish girls / women
This particular FM-AM radio is called Birgit.
ARAKO: Arbejdernes Radio Kooperation was a Danish radio factory founded by the labor movement in 1932.
Originally, they imported radios and put an ARAKO sign on them. In 1932, the first radio shop was established. Production initially took place in the basement.
The factory also produced loudspeaker systems and trolleys. They primarily produced good and cheap radios for workers, but a single 8-lamp luxury model was also made. It was not a great success, about 250 were produced.
From 1953, they produced an FM attachment that could be retrofitted into older radios dating back to 1944. The following year, all new models could be delivered with FM.
ARAKO's service department continued until 1992 (!)
