Fossil matrix - Monjurosuchus - 53 cm - 33 cm

Monjurosuchus sp. – articulated skeleton on matrix This lot consists of an articulated fossil skeleton of Monjurosuchus sp., a small crocodyliform from the well-known Jehol Biota. The specimen is preserved on its original limestone matrix and represents a single individual. A small fossil fish is also present on the slab as an associated element, adding to the overall visual appeal and display value of the specimen. The skeleton shows a clear and coherent anatomical layout. The skull outline is visible with a recognisable triangular shape, followed by a well-preserved vertebral column and rib cage. Both forelimbs and hind limbs are present, with identifiable long bones and digits. The tail is notably well preserved, with a continuous series of caudal vertebrae extending naturally from the body. Bone contrast against the light-coloured matrix is good, allowing the main anatomical elements to be easily observed without excessive enhancement. Preparation appears consistent with common practices for fossils from this region, with no obvious over-restoration. Minor stabilisation or repair may be present, as expected for fossils of this type and origin. The slab is of manageable display size and suitable for private collection, study, or exhibition. Recommended for collectors with an interest in the Jehol Biota, small crocodyliforms, or articulated fossil skeletons.
