Antique miniature globe from about 1867 published by Hachette & Cie in Paris. For their revision and correction by Vivien de Saint-Martin, a well-known geographer of that period. The globe itself was made in Berlin by Ernst Schotte & Co. Apparently there was a long-standing good cooperation between the two firms. Remarkable that in that era of upheaval such a German-French connection existed.
The globe is mounted upright on a black-painted wooden stand with a base plate.

The globe is complete and original. It has no notable defects.

A rarity given its age.

Globes by Ernst Schotte are distinguished by their beautiful and high-quality cartography. That quality is also visible in this globe.


Antieke Miniatuur globe uit ca. 1867 uitgegeven door Hachette & Cie te Parijs. Voor hun herzien en gecorrigeerd door Vivien de Saint-Martin een bekend geograaf in die periode. De globe zelf is gemaakt in Berlijn door Ernst Schotte & Co. Blijkbaar was er tussen die twee firma's gedurende lange tijd een goede samenwerking. Opmerkelijk dat er in die toch ook roerige periode zo'n Duits-Franse verband bestond.
De globe is rechtstandig geplaatst op een houten zwart gelakte standaard met voetplaat. 

De globe is compleet en origineel. Heeft geen noemenswaardige gebreken. 


Een zeldzaamheid gezien de leeftijd. 

Alles staat duidelijk op de foto's die wezenlijk onderdeel zijn van de omschrijving.

Globes van Ernst Schotte onderscheiden zich door hun mooie en kwalitatief hoogstaande cartografie.  Die kwaliteit is ook in deze globe terug te zien.
