Clock and garniture set - Japy Frères - Marble, Brass - 1850-1900
Elegant French mantel clock garniture from the late 19th century (circa 1880), executed in the Napoleon III style. The set consists of a finely decorated clock and a pair of matching five-light candelabras.
The clock is fitted with a high-quality French movement stamped by Japy Frères, one of the most renowned clock manufacturers of the 19th century. It is an 8-day movement with bell strike, counting the hours and striking once on the half hour.
The case is made of black ebonized wood (marble-style finish) and richly adorned with gilt bronze ornaments, displaying refined classical details. The matching candelabras feature elegant scrolling arms and stand on coordinated bases, forming a harmonious and decorative ensemble.
The clock comes complete with pendulum and winding key. The movement runs and strikes correctly.
Condition: in good overall condition with normal signs of age and use. One rear foot has been discreetly replaced for stability; this is not visible from the front and does not affect the overall appearance.
A highly decorative and collectible French garniture, ideal for both interior display and collectors of antique clocks.
