Description from the seller
Celadon Stoneware Bowl with Incised Floral Decoration – Song/Yuan Dynasty Style
Presented is an elegant Chinese stoneware bowl finished in a characteristic pale greyish-green Celadon glaze. This piece stands out for its interior decoration, executed using the underglaze incision technique, featuring stylized floral motifs (likely lotus petals) with fluid and confident strokes, typical of the folk kiln traditions of the Song and Yuan dynasties.
Technical and Style Details:
• Dimensions: The bowl measures 17 cm in diameter, a perfect size to appreciate the craftsmanship of the piece.
• Technique: Hand-incised decoration creates a subtle relief beneath the glazed layer. The glaze itself has a smooth, satiny texture.
• Base: The ring foot is unglazed (biscuit), revealing the original stoneware body with small natural iron oxidations and kiln firing marks, elements that provide character and testify to the traditional artisanal firing process.
• Condition: The bowl is in good general condition, showing natural wear consistent with its style and age, including minor "fritting" (glaze loss) at the rim and small kiln-born mineral impurities which do not detract from the overall aesthetic of the piece.
Shipping Conditions:
The item will be shipped with the utmost care in packaging to guarantee its integrity. The package will travel fully protected and insured. Shipping will be made to an official collection point where, for the buyer's security, it will be mandatory to provide proof of identity (ID/Passport) to complete the collection.
