Description from the seller
Octagonal wooden stool in the style of Charlotte Perriand or Pierre Chapo, popular in France in the 1950s and 1960s. The stool is located in the Netherlands and its origin is therefore Dutch.
The stool is characterized by a rough, minimalist and brutalist style, with an emphasis on the natural look and texture of the wood. Fully made from solid oak. Shows signs of use appropriate to its age, a small dent and a dent visible. A beautiful warm patina has developed because the stool has been maintained with wax or oil over the years.
The stool has a striking seat and three sturdy legs. The seat consists of 3 separate pieces that are put together with a rabbet joint. See the photos where this "step" joint is clearly visible and the slats are slid into each other. This method of joining is to prevent the wood from warping. It has succeeded; the little table is straight.
The timeless design and the durability of this piece will be worth your investment. Whether you use the stool as a side table, footstool, or plant stand, it will serve you for years. Photos have been taken from all sides so you get a good view of this stool; behold the beautiful interplay of solid wood. The photos are part of the description.
Dimensions:
Width 28 cm
Depth 21.5 cm
Height 28.5 cm
Weight 2.5 kg
The stool will be insured for shipment. Pickup is also possible, your choice.
