Description from the seller
A fine silver cigarette case of Hungarian origin. The case features a sophisticated engine-turned (guilloché) geometric pattern on both the front and back, accented by elegant hand-engraved foliate and scrollwork borders. The interior is finished with a matte-gilt (gold-plated) surface, showing a characteristic fine granular texture typical of the period's galvanic finishing. The retaining elastic straps have been professionally replaced to ensure functionality.
The piece is a classic example of Hungarian silver craftsmanship from the mid-20th century, combining the structural rigidity of Art Deco design with traditional floral engraving.
Greyhound Head hallmark with "3" (official Hungarian hallmark for .800 silver) and "P" for Pest assay office. "TI" maker marked. Number "1" assembly mark stamped on both interior frames.
Excellent vintage condition. The hinge and push-button clasp are fully functional. The exterior shows light surface wear and natural patina. The interior matte gilding is well-preserved with minor signs of use.
Will be adequately packaged and shipped with with Track & Trace.
