Description from the seller
Vintage Pickering OA-3A Studio Headphones – 1970s, USA
Offered is a rare pair of original Pickering OA-3A studio headphones, manufactured in the 1970s. Pickering, known primarily for its high-quality audio cartridges, also produced a limited range of professional monitoring equipment, making these headphones a distinctive and collectible item within vintage audio history.
The headphones feature a characteristic period design with metal yokes, closed-back earcups, and padded headband and cushions in original brown finish. The construction reflects typical studio-oriented engineering of the era, aimed at durability and controlled sound reproduction.
Original labeling is present on both channels (LEFT/RIGHT), as well as the original cable and jack plug.
Condition:
Visually in good vintage condition with signs of age and use, including wear to the ear cushions and headband.
Functionally tested on an electronic piano: sound is present on both channels; however, the right channel was intermittently quieter than the left. No further technical testing has been performed.
Due to age and original studio specification, sound performance may vary depending on the audio source, amplification, and impedance matching.
Important:
Sold as a vintage studio and collector’s item. No guarantee of full functionality according to modern standards.
A rare opportunity to acquire an authentic piece of 1970s studio audio equipment with distinctive design and collectible appeal.
