H. van Riet (1883-1962) ‘Koeien’ Oil on panel Impressionist masterwork created by the Dutch painter H. van Riet (1883-1962). The atmosphere of a sunny late afternoon with cows is superbly depicted. The work strongly recalls the style of Anton Mauve (1838-1888) and Fedor van Kregten (1871-1937). It is painted in the style of the Hague School.

The painting shows a scene in which a group of cows is driven along a sandy path. What makes this work special is the masterful use of the 'golden hour'. The low evening sun casts a warm, golden glow over the backs of the cattle and creates long, deep blue shadows that give the piece great depth. The painting brings calm and warmth to the interior and is delivered with a splendid museum-quality frame.

Condition:
- In good condition, light yellowing of the varnish layer appropriate to the age of the work.
