Italian school (XVIII) - San Francesco

Portrait of a pupil of Luca Giordano, a celebrated Neapolitan painter of the Baroque 17th century.
The dimensions are 68 × 48 cm without the frame, 82 × 62 cm with the frame.
The painting is in good condition, in keeping with the age of the canvas which is over three centuries old.
A beautiful work that radiates power: in a world shrouded in darkness, light pushes through with force and strikes those able to welcome it.
The work shows a small craquelure at the bottom left and a slight varnish loss on the frame in the bottom left corner.
The work was restored in the 1990s, with a final estimated value of 4,500,000 old lire.
