Description from the seller

Magnificent Baccarat crystal centerpiece, in a salmon-pink tone, with scrollwork decoration and a central radial motif. This model is formally identified as belonging to Baccarat's “Russian Series,” and is illustrated in the General Catalogue of the Compagnie des Cristalleries de Baccarat from 1903/1904, on page 22 (model reference Plateau T 202 / T 203).

The piece is signed in relief on the crystal with “BACCARAT” and “DÉPOSÉ,” an authentic marking of the manufacture for its registered molded-crystal models from this period.

The crystal rests on a silver base and frame, featuring two exclusive side handles composed of discs of antique ivory with decorative applications in the shape of a scarab in turquoise, evoking the Egyptian Revival aesthetic characteristic of the early 20th century.

The ivory elements are accompanied by an official certificate confirming that the ivory is elephant ivory pre-1947, in full compliance with current European regulations (Regulation CE 338/97).

Condition - Crystal in very good overall condition, with light signs of use on the base; natural patina on the silver and radial crazing characteristic of the ivory, compatible with the age and authenticity of the materials.

Approximate dimensions -
8.5 cm in height;
38 cm in width (total with the handles);
Total weight:
1718 grams;

Shipping note and legal restrictions -
Due to CITES regulations relating to ivory elements, this lot can only be shipped to EU member countries. We ask bidders outside the EU not to participate in this auction. Shipping will be performed only after verification of the destination address within the EU.
