Four stained glass windows with four painted elements dating from 1628 and 1694, originating from the Netherlands, each measuring approximately 40 cm wide and 80 cm high (depth 3 cm) and in good condition with minor signs of aging and stains.
Description from the seller
4 stained glass windows with 4 stained-glass elements from 1628 and 1694.
The windows are in good condition, one pane with a crack. Some panes have been restored/replaced at some point.
The 17th-century stained-glass elements were probably placed later (early 20th century?) into the windows. Originating from a building demolished in the 1930s.
Inscriptions (as best as possible):
- The peace of the Lord as Solomon sent, that is the beginning of all wisdom, Jan Ariens Wit 1628.
- You servants who serve the Lord are trusted, who in His holy house keep watch steadily, and are allowed by God to stand in His courts, well to let heart and mouth praise the name of the Lord, Abraham Claasz Oosterhooren and Neeltje Pietersz Louws, his wife, anno 1694.
One pane has a slightly larger size, 82 cm.
Due to fragility: collection only after consultation in Biltholen or The Hague.
