Description from the seller
TVR V8 S Cabriolet

• Left-hand drive
• Appraisal report 2025 available (valuation € 35,000)
• Original and good condition
• Grey leather interior with rootwood wood trim
• Technical upgrades including 4-piston brakes, adjustable suspension with dampening and an aluminum radiator
• MOT until 26 July 2027
GENERAL
We may offer: the top model of the TVR S-series with the coveted 3,950 cc V8 engine. With an acceleration time of 4.9 seconds to 100 km/h, this car is faster than a Ferrari Testarossa from the same era! A fine achievement for the small British carmaker. This example is left-hand drive and has been in the Netherlands since 2001, where the car has only had 3 owners. The TVR has been restored and is in good, original condition. It is well maintained and has a valid MOT until 26 July 2027. In 2025, an appraisal report was issued with a value of € 35,000.
EXTERIOR
The car is finished in attractive blue metallic paint with a blue mohair soft top. The cosmetic condition is good with some signs of use. The same goes for rubbers, chrome trim and lighting, without notable damage. The hood has a large bulge to house the large engine. The 15-inch alloy wheels are fitted with Dunlop Sport tires.
INTERIOR
The leather interior is finished in dark grey and is trimmed with rootwood. The windows and mirrors are electrically operated. A Pioneer radio is installed. The interior is in neat and original condition with normal signs of wear. The woodwork and leather upholstery are free of cracking. The blue upholstery is also in good condition. The trunk space is very tidy.
TECHNICAL
Technically, the TVR is also well maintained. The underside is in good condition, as is the engine bay (see our extensive photo report). Light-alloy 4-piston brakes have been installed with ventilated discs. Stainless steel intake manifolds and an aluminum radiator have also been fitted. Thanks to an adjustable-damping suspension, the car is slightly lowered. The car starts, drives, brakes and shifts well.
GENERAL
Vehicles from the S-series were produced for nine years, from 1986 to 1994, and consisted of six variants: the S1, S2, S3, S3C, S4C and the V8S. This TVR was intended as a new entry model. The exterior design was inspired by the TVR 3000S, while the technology was based on the TVR Tasmin 280i. The S-series is also seen as the first run with the now-iconic curved dashboards, a popular styling element that later appeared in many TVR models.
The V8 S version arose more or less out of necessity. Originally the plan was to base the TVR Griffith on the S-series platform, but with a Rover-origin V8 engine instead of the Ford V6. Because the development of the Griffith took longer than expected, TVR opted for an interim solution. With a modified chassis and a revised body to accommodate the larger engine up to 3,948 cc, the V8 S and S4C were born. With 240 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque, this model accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds and reached a top speed of 240 km/h. To cope with these performances, the car was equipped with disc brakes all around, unlike the drum brakes at the rear used on earlier models.

Request help with registration from a third-party service provider.Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
