Antique student microscope in brass with case – England, 19th century
Old student microscope in solid brass, presented with its original wooden case. Typical pedagogical model from the end of the 19th century, used for teaching natural sciences.
Classic English construction with a horseshoe-shaped stand, square stage with clamp and monocular tube.
Presence of a lateral articulated magnifier, allowing quick observation of specimens, as well as a lens integrated into the lid of the case.
Unsigned model, but characteristic of English productions by manufacturers such as C. Baker, W. Watson & Sons or R & J Beck, circa 1880–1895.
