Antique Renaissance footrest from Italy, dating to about 1800–1850, with a dark-stained wooden frame and curved legs, a beige floral fabric seat, interior stuffed with straw and burlap and needing renovation, dimensions H 14 cm × W 23 cm × D 35 cm, in good condition with small signs of aging.

Footrest, or small ottoman in the Renessance style. They were used to keep the feets warm and protect from from terrible drafts that reigned in medieval castles. The piece features gracefully curved legs and a dark-stained wooden frame with decorative profiling. The seat is upholstered with a beige florale fabric, which is much younger then stool itself. The insides are stuffed with straw and covered with burlap, this part need some renovation! All wooden joints are connected useing tongue and groove joints and wood glue. Bark beetesmarks on the wood (small and not much damaging) indicate that the tree is over 100 years old.
Object is antique and need some renovation.
