Hydrometer - Gilt bronze, Gilt brass

Antique and spectacular SNIA VISCOSA hydrostatic balance in its original wooden box. Italy, 20th century with serial number: 3103 / 7 / 1. The hydrostatic balance measures the buoyant force that a fluid exerts on a body immersed in it and allows determining the density of that body based on Archimedes' principle. In good condition of preservation for its age and use. It bears a handwritten note from the period. A unique piece for collectors!
