Clearly defined ruby crystals on light marble from Jegdalek in Afghanistan. The crystal form is clearly recognizable, and the intense ruby red color impresses under every light. Especially in transmitted light you can see the exceptional clarity of this piece.

The Jegdalek region in eastern central Afghanistan is regarded as the only known source of rubies from Afghanistan. In the Jegdalek deposits, gemstones have been mined for 700 years.
