Description from the seller

tall floor-standing candlestick, in Baroque/Neoclassical style. It is a decorative piece that echoes liturgical tradition, probably originally used in a religious setting or in a noble residence.

The candlestick features a slim, turned shaft with several decorative elements:

At the top and middle, there are foliage motifs (acanthus leaves) and bulbous sections.

The finish is gilt gold (or gold leaf), which shows a beautiful patina with some areas where the underlying wood shows through, giving the object an antique and authentic look.

Base: The original base of the candlestick is a tripod with scroll feet, typical of the nineteenth century.

Additional support: The candlestick has been mounted on a circular solid wood walnut base with steps. This is often a later alteration to provide greater stability or to adapt it as a modern furniture piece.

Top: Finishes with a wax-catching dish and a central metal spike, designed to secure large wax candles.

Dimensions
Total height: About 74 cm (excluding the central metal spike).

Diameter of the wooden base: 24 cm.
