The Luxman Sound Excellence (1984-1985)
The Luxman L-205 is an iconic integrated amplifier from the Japanese hi-fi "golden age."
Unlike the low-end amplifiers of its era that used integrated circuits (all-in-one chips), the L-205 relies on a discrete-component architecture.
This high-end design allows much finer signal management and easier maintenance for decades to come.
Exclusive Duo-Beta technology (Duo-Beta)
The heart of this device is the famous Duo-Beta circuit patented by Luxman. This innovation uses two distinct feedback loops:
- One loop for audible frequencies to minimize distortion.
- One loop for sub-bass to stabilize the direct current.
The result: An extremely natural sound, a wide stereo image, and that "warmth" characteristic that has made Luxman a worldwide name.
Main Technical Characteristics:
- Type: Solid-state amplifier (discrete power transistors).
- Power: 2 x 40 Watts into 8 Ohms (Actual dynamic power, capable of driving demanding speakers).
