Hamelink presents The Silent Witness, an original Neo-Expressionist acrylic painting from the Netherlands, 160 cm by 140 cm in multi-colour, dated 2026, in excellent condition, signed, delivered rolled without a frame and with a signed certificate of authenticity.
Description from the seller
In this expressive work by Bart Hamelink, one figure is central: a silent witness in a world full of stimuli, time and movement. With arms crossed, she looks straight ahead — present, but distant.
The title “The Silent Witness” refers to observing without intervening. Seeing what happens, feeling what is at play, but without words or action. An inner world that does not reveal itself directly.
The background is built from layers of color, text and symbolism, in which words like “time” recur. This reinforces the sense of time passing, while the figure itself seems still. As if she is trapped between past and present.
As is often the case in Hamelink’s work, it is about feeling and connection — but here more inwardly focused. Not the connection with others, but with yourself. Observing your own thoughts, without judgment.
The direct, raw method and visible lines give the work an honest and unfiltered appearance. Everything remains visible, nothing is hidden.
The strength of the work lies in the tension between movement and stillness: a busy world versus a quiet presence.
Note:
The depicted images with frames are mood images and are intended to illustrate how the work can hang in an interior.
The artwork is delivered without a frame and without a stretcher frame (rolled) for safe and affordable transport.
The work is carefully packaged and shipped, and is delivered with a signed certificate of authenticity from the artist Bart Hamelink.
