This is a beautiful enamelled metal soup ladle (soepel) from Petrus Regout & Co., a well-known Dutch manufacturer.

Description
• Material: enamelled metal (white enamel with a black rim)
• Long handle with decorative black and orange/red ornamentation
• Classic, deep spoon shape → ideal for soup or sauces
• The handle ends in a slightly flared grip for a better hold

Origin
• Made by Petrus Regout & Co. in Maastricht
• This company was active from the 19th century and grew into one of the largest producers of earthenware and enamel in Europe

Period
• Probably ca. 1900 – 1930
• Typical for the period: simple colours with subtle decoration
