Description from the seller
Title: Suspended Between Two Silences
Oil on canvas, 40x30 cm
A. De Luca
A suspended, almost dreamlike atmosphere envelops this oil-on-canvas composition measuring 40x30 cm, signed by A. De Luca. The work unfolds in a delicate balance between reality and imagination, where architectural and natural elements blend into a poetic, silent narrative.
On the left, a small house with fairy-tale features emerges, characterized by a warm red roof and a façade that alternates soft, earthy tones. The windows, illuminated by an inner golden light, suggest an intimate and reassuring human presence, creating an emotional contrast with the surrounding open space. A narrow stone staircase runs along the edge of the structure, emphasizing verticality and introducing a sense of depth.
Beside the dwelling, a bare tree rises against a milky sky, its thin branches intertwining like graphic signs, contributing to a visual tension that recalls the passage of time and the quiet of waiting.
The focal point shifts to the right, where a large full moon dominates the background with an almost tangible presence. Its detailed and luminous surface amplifies the surreal character of the scene, softly illuminating the landscape beneath.
In the foreground, a curved road transforms into a kind of impossible bridge, suspended in space. On this unreal edge sits a male figure, elegant and solitary, wearing a hat and dark suit. The gathered posture and the gaze toward the horizon suggest introspection, melancholy, and contemplation. The man appears in precarious balance between two worlds: the domestic and reassuring one behind him and the open and undefined one before him.
The color palette, dominated by warm earth tones and contrasted with cold grays and blues, contributes to a subtle but persistent emotional tension. The soft, blended brushwork reinforces the dreamlike effect, making the contours deliberately not rigid.
