Patrick Gingembre – SELAP high chair – France – 1970s – Space Age design
Original high chair designed by Patrick Gingembre for SELAP (Société d’Études et de Liaisons pour l’Art Plastique) in France, dating from the 1970s.
The chair is made in orange molded plastic and has a flowing, organic form that is characteristic of Space Age and Pop design from the period. The design is characterized by soft curves, integrated forms, and a playful appearance, where functionality and sculptural aesthetics come together.
Patrick Gingembre was a French designer active in the 60s and 70s and known for his innovative use of plastic and experimental shapes. His designs align with the international development of plastic design in the Space Age era.
