Silver Mesh Coin Purse / Chainmail Purse – Early 20th Century
Portugal assay mark (1887-1937), 833/000, and same date marker's mark.

Elegant silver mesh coin purse, featuring a finely woven chainmail body and a solid silver frame with a clasp closure. The delicate metal mesh creates a flexible and refined structure typical of small purses used during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Such purses were commonly carried as coin purses or small evening accessories, often attached to a chatelaine or kept inside a handbag. The fine metal mesh and simple elegant frame give the piece a timeless and classic appearance.

Because of its craftsmanship and historical charm, this type of purse is appreciated today by collectors of antique silver objects and vintage accessories.
