Dominican green amber is a type of amber that exhibits a rare, clear coloration. It is most common in amber mines in the mountains near Santiago, Dominican Republic. Under artificial light, amber appears like ordinary amber, but under sunlight it has an intense fluorescent blue coloration. When held up to the sun it will appear like ordinary amber, and under ultraviolet light it will exhibit a brilliant milky blue color. They are estimated to be 25-44 million years old.
