Description from the seller
Amsterdam School desk clock – copper, ca. 1920–1930
A characteristic small desk clock in the Amsterdam School style, made of copper and dating from around 1920–1930. The design is characterized by the typical expressive formal language and artisanal appearance that are so defining for this Dutch art movement.
The clock has a bold, geometric construction with a round dial equipped with raised copper dots as hour markers. The combination of smooth and rough-worked surfaces gives it a lively, decorative character. The warm copper tone, in combination with the natural patina, enhances the authentic appearance.
A particularly decorative object that fits well in both an Art Deco / Amsterdam School interior and a more eclectic setting.
The clock is fitted with a quartz movement; the second hand runs, but the hour hand does not move.
