Description from the seller
GENERAL:
Experience the ultimate ‘Grand Tourer’ in its purest form. This 1989 Jaguar XJ-S V12 Convertible is a rare find. The car came from an older couple who used the Jaguar as a 'snowbird' car to overwinter in the dry climate of Arizona. Although the car bears Alaska license plates, it has never left the state of Arizona, which explains its sound, rust-free condition. With only 50,000 miles on the odometer, this is a turnkey icon for the connoisseur.
BODYWORK & PAINT:
Thanks to the favorable climate and the fact that the car has always been stored indoors, the bodywork is in exceptional condition. The paint is fully original, with the exception of the hood; it was expertly resprayed because the original paint had dulled in the harsh Arizona sun. The chassis is fully rust-free and the car sits on the original spoke wheels with brand-new tires. The soft top is in good condition and operates fully hydraulically and smoothly.
TECHNICAL:
The legendary 5.3-liter V12 runs and shifts as smoothly as you would expect from a Jaguar of this caliber. The car has been excellently maintained and comes with a clean Carfax report. A unique detail: the spare wheel has never been used and the original tool kit is complete. The engineering is honest, unpretentious, and ready for many comfortable miles.
INTERIOR:
Step into an oasis of British comfort and pure class. The interior is very neat, clean, and equipped with very forward-thinking options for its time, such as power-adjustable and heated seats, air conditioning, cruise control, and a adjustable leather-wrapped steering wheel. Even the original audio system with cassette player is still present, contributing to the authentic driving experience.
DOCUMENTS:
This Jaguar is supplied with all original booklets and American documentation. Because the car is over 30 years old, no COC document is required for registration within Europe. The low mileage of 50,000 miles is demonstrable and supported by the overall condition of the vehicle.
PICK-UP:
The car is viewable and it can be collected in Damwoude, Netherlands. We cordially invite you to view it to personally experience the quality of this specimen. Transport throughout Europe can be arranged in consultation with us.
OTHER INFORMATION:
This is not a 'project', but one of the better examples currently available on the market. Although the car is 37 years old and minimal signs of use in a classic cannot be fully excluded, the condition of this Jaguar is truly impressive. A value-retentive investment and a pleasure to drive.

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
