A substantial solid mahogany console in the Luigi Filippo antique style, dating to about 1900, with a Carrara white marble top, dimensions 160 x 53 x 103 cm, origin Campania, Italy, in good condition with minor signs of age and stains.

Important and imposing console entirely crafted in solid mahogany. The piece, supported by four S-shaped legs, features a contoured front and sides. The entire surface is finely carved with rocaille motifs, mascarons on the front uprights, and winged griffins in the central band. Four sinuous crosspieces connect the supports and converge on a mascaron that unites them. Note the great vigor of the carving, which in some details shows genuine sculptural strength. The top, contemporary with the piece, is made of white Carrara marble with an owl-beak profile. Its matching mirror is also available. Naples, Luigi Filippo period (mid-19th century). Dimensions are: 160 x 53 cm, height 103 cm. The mirror measures 138 x 197 cm. The piece must be collected in La Spezia.
