Two Knoll Warren Platner side tables, designed by Warren Platner, Italy, in steel and Levanto marble, mint condition, estimated period 2025, dimensions 42 cm wide, 42 cm deep, 47 cm high.
Description from the seller
These elegant furnishings are the famous Platner tables, an icon of modernist design created by American architect Warren Platner in 1966 for Knoll.
Here are the main features of the piece shown:
Design and Structure: The table is sculptural and complex, made by welding hundreds of curved steel rods to circular frames, which serve both as the load-bearing structure and as decoration.
Materials: The base is usually nickel-plated or bronzed steel, while the top can vary between clear or bronzed crystal, wood, and various types of marble, such as Levanto marble.
Typical Dimensions: For the "Side Table" version (serving table), the diameter is about 40 cm with a height of 46 cm.
Distinctive Detail: The base is finished with a translucent extruded plastic edge to protect both the floor and the metal structure.
Still in production today, these tables are considered true "modern classics" that harmoniously blend aesthetics and industrial technology.
