Murano glass flower with silk stem – length 40 cm

This flower is entirely handmade in Murano using the traditional lamp-working technique.
The master glassmaker uses a colored glass cane, brought to the bending temperature by the flame of a gas-fueled torch. The glass, once malleable, is shaped and wrapped around a thin metal support, allowing the desired form to be achieved.
Lamp-working makes it possible to create extremely detailed subjects, such as flowers, animals, and small decorative elements.
For flowers, once the bud and leaves are finished, the piece is hand-inserted onto a silk-covered stem and reinforced with metal wire, so it can be used for arrangements, decorations, and displays.
